GARY SCHOCKERFlutist-composer-pianist Gary Schocker is an accomplished musician of outstanding versatility. As a flutist, Mr. Schocker has performed with the many of the world�s great orchestras including performances with the New York Philharmonic and the Philadelphia Orchestra (while still in his teens), in I Solisti Italiani�s 1993 tour performing his AIRBORNE, and in leading chamber music festivals and recital halls around the world. He has performed in collaboration with many of the world�s greatest performers. In September 1999, Schocker appeared as soloist to open the Dallas Symphony�s new season.In addition to numerous works for flute, Schocker has composed sonatas for most instruments of the orchestra. He has also written several musicals and children�s musicals, and he is a prolific composer of songs. Schocker has won the International Clarinet Association�s annual composition competition twice and the National Flute Association�s annual Newly Published Award three times. James Galway premiered his three-movement concerto GREEN PLACES at Ireland�s Adair Festival and has also performed this work with the New Jersey Symphony. Mr. Galway performed Schocker�s MUSIQUE FRAN�AISE on his U.S. tour in 2002.Gary Schocker can be heard in his debut recording for Jonathan Records, and on four highly-acclaimed CD�s on the Chesky label. The 1998 recording AIRBORNE features his own works for flute, with piano and harp. Schocker�s music also appears on the Koch, Troy, Sazas, Gionata, SNE, O.C., and Innova labels.
