Skyscraper, by Danny Raymond, is a very difficult solo for marching snare drum that only experienced players will want to attempt. It’s fast at the beginning and even faster at the end. In addition to a healthy dose of stick tricks, you’ll be challenged with blazing singles, rolls, flam patterns, fast one-handed 16ths that require Moeller motion, and more. Luckily there is a “bolero-esque” section in the middle that will give the performer a chance to breathe.
