Schlitz & Giggles - drumline warmup

Schlitz & Giggles was a core battery warm-up of the Santa Clara Vanguard in the late 90s and beyond. I was running the technique program in those days and wanted a solid vehicle for tap/accent-style patterns in a groovy, triplet feel—almost like a jump blues. Its format allows for plenty of variations, some of which are described below. It works well at a variety of tempos and should cause some toe tapping in any onlookers if played correctly. Play it once, or on repeat, for a fun and accessible way to drill some basic battery technique!
